Apr. 17 Curator of American Indian and Native Arts at the Denver art Museum Norman Feder here back ups a stone pile driver of the little-knownella Coola tribe. The 19-kg. Wight was used in building fish weirs and traps. (The potlatch tribes wealth was in Salmon.). Held in both hands, the stone was slammed down on poles set in shallow lake or river. It is not known if the sculptured head also had a ceremonial function
