Mr. Alfred BateScotland's biggest ski lift has just been opened in the Cairngorn Mountains a farmhand o church Road, Halewood, near Liverpool - has been a very busy man for the past twelve moths - for her is constructing a village -within- a village. In the back garden of his home - Mr. Hate is constructing a complete model village - entirely from stone. So far the village has its inn, two cottages and a beautiful church, constructed entirely in marble - a replica of the famous marble church near st. Asaph, in Northales. It is built from scraps of marble left over by a monumental maon, out each piece has been fashioned into a little brick, and each brick, of which there are some hundreds, have been cemented daughter to form the church. It even has stained glass windows which are actually lantern slides -out to shap - with religious scenes on them. The village is being laid out in the garden - complete with a miniature stream - rustic bridge etc. Photo shows Mr. Bate at work on his fine model of the St. Asaph church - at his home at Halewood
