Apr. 18 He started making dolls for fun ; now he has 5, 000 of them: Many years ago Mr. Nishizawa, a Toryo artist, made and designed a few dolls to give friends as presents. he was fascinated with the work, and decided to make a collection for himself, and to dress the dolls in clothes worn by the people of Japan in different eras in the past thousand years. He makes all the dresses himself, and his daughter Kazue acts as a model. At present Mr. Nishizawa's collection amounts to some 5, 000 dolls, many of which are so beautiful that several collections are on permanent loan to museums and exhibitions throughout the country. And still Mr. Nishizawa keeps on making dolls. He finds he just can't stop.
