1960 - FAMOUS PAINTINGS SOLD BY AUCTION AT CHRISTIES. JUNO BRINGS 50, 000 GUINEAS..: A number of famous paintings - including many Rembrandts were sold by auction at Christies this morning. They were from the collection of the late Dr. C.J.K. VAN AALST of the Netherlands. Keystone Photo Shows:- The scene as Juno - by Rembrandt is knocked down for 50, 000 GNS - by the auctioneer - Mr. I.O.Chance. This is the painting which is said to be a Lost masterpiece. It disappeared after 1665 until it turned up again at a sale in Bonn in 1936 - where it fetched £70.It is believed that Rembrandt's Mistress Hendrickje Stoffels posed for the painting
