May 03, 1960 - Retired painter and decorator finds a 10/- Rembrandt may be worth a fortune: The faded and dirt stained canvas that 78 year old retired painter and decorator John Monaghan of Monkseston, Northumberland purchased some time ago for 10/- at a second hand store may turn out to be a real Rembrandt valued at some thousands of pounds. The painting is a portrait of Pieter Larstman Rembrandt's tutor and experts, including a professor from Holland say that it is a real Rembrandt John is having the painting valued. Photo shows the painting portrait of Pieter Larstman believed to be by Rembrandt and to worth a fortune
