1961 - Sketch by a CAT - to be exhibited.: An exhibition of more than seventy paintings by spare time artist Dr. George Cooper (47) of Hertford is being opened at Foyle's Art Gallery, London. Included in the exhibits will be a sketch by Topsy a three year old cat. Dr. Cooper got the idea when he found that Topsy had developed a liking for crayons and panecils -she suspended a soft crayon on a piece of string - and the result of the attacks by the cat on the crayon - was the picture. Dr. Cooper darkened some of the lines - and gave it a wash. Photo shows Topsy the cat - stops work on his new production to admire the sketch which is to be exhibited - at the Gallery this morning
