Mar. 03, 1964 - Ancient Fresco discovered during restoration of the Saint Marcus Basilica in Venice; A fesco of great archeological interest has been discovered during restoration work in the famous St. Marcus Basilica in Venice. The fresco was found after a marble slab had been removed from wall in the Bapistry. The fresco covers an area of five square meters and represents teh Virgin Mary between two angels in the Byzantine style painting dull red and gold. Experts say that the work dates back to the thirteenth century.
