Sep. 09, 1964 - A minor repair - by the artist himself : Painter Jean Miro turned the Tate Gallery into a temporary studio yesterday. The tiny Spaniard, who earns more money than any living artist with the exception of Piasso, was doing some extra work on one of his paintings on show at his huge retrospective show. Seems the painting Green was damaged in France and somebody tried unsuccessfully to paint over the marks. Miro had the painting taken down at the Tate and set to work in his brown tweed suit.
