Nov. 11, 1960 - Renoir Nude Sold For £38, 000 At Sotheby's: A nude study by Renoir - as sold at Sotheby's this morning for £38, 000. It is from the collection of the late Ralph M. CVose of Clevelan d, Ohio. The painting is very similar to a Renior sold by the Tate Gallery in 1944 for only £5, 300 - and who was at the time the centre of a storm of controversy. Photo shows Scene during the sale od the Renoir - entitled Batgneuse debut dans L'eau dates 1888 - for £38, 000 at Sotheby's this morning
