May 04, 1966 - Paintings For The Academy Exhibition: when the Royal Academy's Summer Exhibition opens on Saturday it will include two paintings by Mr. Anthony Green, a 26-year old art master at Highgate school. No one will say what they are until Friday's rivate view but Mr. Green admitted yesterday that he thought some people would say they were obscene and pornographic. Until the Summer Exhibition opens the best place to see DM; Green's work is at the flat in Highgate where he lives with his wife, Mary and eight-month-old daughter, Kate. The biggest picture depicts Christ being taken down from te cross, the Ascen sion and the Deseant into hell. The face of Christ looks remarkably like Mr. Green's, and the vision of Hell incorporates a four - letter word written on a wall and what looks like Mr. Green again, this time in female underwear. Nothing blasphemous, of course. I consider myself a religious man, Says Mr. Green. I go to church every Sunday'.
