Jun. 06, 1966 - Van Gogh's Painting of Mlle Ravoux Is Sold At Christie's For 150, 000 Guineas One of Van Gogh's last paintings was auctioned at Christie's for 150, 000 guineas. It is a portrait of Mlle Ravoux, daughter of the owner of cafe in Auvera where Van Gogh shot himself. The painting belongs to the Lords New Church, Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania. it was bought by Mr. David Bathurst, a director of Christies, on behalf of an anonymous American buyer.
