1966 - This Could Be an Old Master Worth a Fortune.: An oil painting which is thought to be by the 16th. century Dutch painter, Pieter Breughel, has been sent to London from New Zealand for examination. It could be worth ?300, 000 or nothing at all. The painting was found by a New Zealand family in their attic. It was examined by Professor Maurice Roestenburg, the director of a New Zealand art gallery, who said he believed the painting was a Breughel lost from the collection of the German Duke Hertog. But he will never knew wether a few days after giving his opinion, and it was only yesterday in London, the painting was carefully examined by Mr. Neil MacLaren, Sotheby's expert on Old Masters.
