Aug. 08, 1968 - Buddha Builder A 36-foot statue of Buddha is the work of philosopher Shinzan Yamada of Futenma, Japan, who is 89 years of age. He commenced his project in 1957 when he was 78. The magnificent statue shows Buddha seated in a gigantic lotus blossom flower, and many visitors journey to Futenma especially to see the huge Buddha.
