Aug. 08, 1969 - Rembrandt portrait for sale.: A superb painting by Rembrandt, believed to portray the artist's father, is to be sold at Christies on November 28th. X-rays have revealed another Rembrandt face beneath the surface - which makes the painting even more valuable. The painting, which could fetch £500, 000, is being sold by Sir Brian Mountain, chairman of Eagles Star Insurance. It was bought by his father in 1938, again at Christie's, for 7, 000 guineas.
