1970 - The second German summit meeting: will take place in Kassel, a thousand year old town with 200 000 inhabitants. Kassel had been changing its name several times in the cours of history. May 21st, the Chancelor of the Federal Republic Willy Brandt and the Prime Minister of the German Democratic Republic Willy Stoph will meet again, in order to continue their talks about the relations between the two parts of Germany. The first historical meeting of the two German statesmen took place in Erfurt, in Eastern German, March 19th, 1970. Photo shows an engraving of Kassel in the second half of the 17th century
