Nov. 11, 1969 - Raphael painting sold: In 1958, afarmer of Morbihan, France, Mr. Paquet, discovered among his family's belongings, a painting, The Virgin and the Child, singed Raphael. The canvas was examined by experts from the Louvre, who declared it to be an authentic Raphael. Last year Mr. Paquet put the painting up for sale, but it was not sold as the minimum price fixed was 6, 000, 000 francs. But now the painting has been sold, for undisclosed sum, believed to be much highter that the one originally fixed. Photo shows The Raphael painting The Virgin and the Child
