Mar. 03, 1971 - Restoration for the Durer-Year The wise and the unwise maids are being restored in the workshop of Gunter Lenz from Munich/Germany (Gunter Lenz-right). These figures has been made by an unknown artist and are placed at the front gate of the St. Sebaldus-Church in Nuremberg (Germany) and are restored on the occasion of the Durer-Year. Until the beginning of the opening ceremonies on May 2nd in Nuremberg the wise maids (with burning oil-lamps) and the unwise ones (with extinguished lamps) have to be again at their place. (On the left of the photo is restorer Hans Kober)
