Apr. 23, 1974 - Artist Ben Maile and new Painting. Today-St, George's Day, a new life-boat sailed up the Thames to join H.M.S. Belfast at Tower Bridge. She carried one passenger, Ben Maile, the marine artist, and his new painting in Face of Danger, which he is donating to the Royal National Life-Boat Institution in their 150th anniversary year as a token of gratitude for his rescue by the service off the coast of Cornwall in 1972. To raise money for a further new life-boat, The St. Paul's Gallery have reproduced this painting in a limited edition of 600 signed copies.
