1974 - Mona Lisa Painted With 80, 000 Postage Stamps. Using portions of 80, 000 assorted postage stamps as mosaic pieces, Japanese artist Isamu Goto has painted the portrait of Mona Lisa in the exact size of the original picture being exhibited in Tokyo after being flown from her home in the Louvre in Paris. It took Goto three months to assemble the postage stamp mosaic pieces into his reproduction of the painting which is also being exhibited in Tokyo
