Oct. 10, 1977 - Luis Trenker Becomes 85 Years: His 85th birthday can celebrate on October 4th, 1977 the actors, director, author and painter Luis Trenker ((LUIS TRENKER - our picture). The son of the mountains was born in St. Ulrich in the valley of Groeden (Italy); and South Tyrol is still today his home. Berge in Flammen (Mountains in flames), Der Rebell (The rebel), Der Kaiser von Kalifornien (The Emperor of California), Der Berg ruft (The mountain calls), Der Feuertoufel (The devil of fire) and Der Kampfums Matterhorn (The fight about the Matterhorn) are only a few of the well-known and most successful films of Luis Trenker, who still today, in the age of 85 years, is full of activity as ever and full of plans. One of them is, to climb up the Matterhorn again (which he shows here as a picture), - and surely the eternal young Luis is able to do this
