Aug. 08, 1979 - 20. Day Of Death Of Alfred Kubin: The transcendental and demonic fascinated the draughtsman Alfred Kubin (ALFRED KUBIN, picture) during all his life. Born at April 10th 1877 in Leitmeritz in Bohemian, the artist made mainly pen-and-ink-drawings and lithographies. As an illustrator he preferred writers, who had made the romantic and transcendence to their themes, like E.T.A. Hoffmann, E.A. Poe or Dostojewski. In the year 1908 Alfred Kubin published his novel The other side for the first time. In the age of 82 years the Austrian lithograph died in Zwickledt near Wernstein at the river Inn
