The Artist, born in Leipzig, went in the year 1935 to Paris/France and serviced during the war in the French Foreign Legion and returned in the year 1945 to Paris, where he lives till now. Hans Hartung is accounted to the most prominent painters of the abstract style, besides this he is an International well known graphic. among his countless honour which he got during his life is the order of Pour le merite for science and art as well as the Stefan Lochner Medal of the City of Cologne/West Germany
