1977 - Exhibition In The Munich House Of Fine Arts - The Thirties - Action-Scene Germany: The Thirties - Action Scene Germany is the theme of an exhibition, which is to be seen at present in the Munich House of Fine Arts and which is meant to be an attempt to present the period of art in Germany between 1930 and 1940. The main subject is not the ideology of art during the Third Reich, as one might assume, but the artistic work that is firmly rooted in the European history of art and is based on traditions of Expressionism, Constructivism and Realism. Thereby it is shown clearly that the so-called Art of the Third Reich was not a central but rather a casual phenomenon. The exhibition, which was made possible by contributions of numerous European and American collectors brings to light material, widely unknown or concealed in depots. It only in connexion with the well-known gives an impression of this decade, which despite all interferences carried on the development in art and linked between past and present. The Thirties - Action Scene Germany is on by April, 17 in the Munich House of Fine Arts and will then be shown in the Folkwang-Museum in Essen (April, 30 to July, 3 1977) and then in the House of Arts in Zurich (July, 15 to September 18, 1977).
