Apollo 11 - Man's First Moon Walk
1962 - Glassy spherule, enlarged 6600 times, was found among Apollo II lunar rocks by scientists at the General Electric Research and Development Center in Schenectady, New York. The spherule's shape indicates that it underwent prior melting. It may have been created when a meteorite crashed into the moon, melting lunar material and splashing it long distances. The photograph was taken with a scanning electron microscope
