Apollo 11 - Man's First Moon Walk
July 20, 1969 - Lunar Sampling: Apollo 11 commander Neil Armstrong gathers samples of the lunar soil soon after he made his historic first step on the surface of the Moon. Program scientists planned this as his first task in case the lunar visit was cut short. Photo was taken by Edwin Buzz Aldrin from inside the landing vehicle.
