Feb. 29 Eight Day Sale Opens.. Selling Up The Home Of The Late Sir John Wood - At Bury St. Edmunds: A sale - which is expected to last for eight days is in progress at Hengrave Hall, the great Tudor Mansion near Bury St. Edmunds, in which Sir John Wood listed before his death last year at the age of 92. This is the biggest sale of its kind in many years. The fine old mansion contains much fine furniture, paintings, and two valuable porcelain collections. They are being sold in 2, 500 lots. Earlier this year the Mansion was sold to be converted into a Convent School. Sir John Wood purchased the Hall in 1897 with half its contents. Afterwards he regretted not having bough the lost - and spent 50 years tracing and buning back the reneinder. At his death his ambition was almost fulfilled.
