Mar. 22 Eight day sale opens selling up the home of the late Sir John Wood at Bury St Edmunds: a sale which is expected to last for sight six days is in progress at Hengrave Hall, the greatest Tudor Mansion neat Bury St Edmunds, in which Sir John Wood lived before his death last year at the age of 92. This is the biggest sale of its kind in many years. The fine old mansion contains much fine furniture, paintings, and two valuable porcelain collections. They are being sold in 2, 500 lots. Earlier this year the Mansion was sold to be converted into Convent school. Sir John Wood purchased the Hall in 1897 with half its contents. Afterwards he regretted not having bought the lot and spent 50 years tracing and buying back the reminder at his death his ambition was almost fulfilled. The present Baronet also Sir John Wood is 64
