Feb. 02, 1962 - A new sort of iron.... has been developed by engineers of an American firm and introduced to German housewives at the International Household Fair in Cologne (23-2-62 - 26-2-62). The iron does not only damp during the ironing (the water container can be unscrewed on the right), but it is also switches off automatically if the iron rests by mistakes on the same place for more than a second.
