May 02, 1968 - The Little Cultural Story on Knives and Scissors had its premiere in the second week of May. With that a world-famous Solinger cutlery plant will start a touring exhibition for schools and women's associations in celebration of the 150 year anniversary of it's Berlin branch. Pictured: Birgit finds a cavalry sabre and a matching dragoon's helmet very fancy while Renate arms herself with a pair of the newest Solinger special scissors. Both exhibition pieces of this unique collection have their own particular meaning: The sabre is one of many which were unwillingly commissioned on another's account by Napoleon in Solingen for his cavalry in 1805. In 1813 the entire supply went to Prussia. The 2nd Brandenburg Dragoon-Regiment was armed with the sabres in 1817. A German industrial plant uses the long scissors to cut engineering paper. The two beautiful girls are themselves a doubled practical joke with the hundreds of scissors from the past, because they are themselves are doubled twins
