Feb. 28 April Ashley's marriage void because she is not a woman'. Sex change model April Ashley, heard a divorce court judge rule that she is not a woman. Mr. Justice Ormrod said: she is not a woman for the purposes of marriage, but is a biological male and has been so since Mr. Arthur Cameron Corbett, 50 year old heir to Lord Rowla, was void. Miss Ashley was born George Jamieson in Liverpool in 1935 and underwent a sex-change operation by a Casablanca doctor in 1960. her marriage to Mr. Corbett, son of a former chief scout, was in Gibraltar in September, 1963.:
