The American archers placed their four archers within the six first places, while Darrell Pace won the championship with 2548 points 103 better then the old world record. Second Richard McKinney, USA, third Kauko Laasonen, Finland. The women's competition has been dominated by the Russian archers with Zebiniso Rustamowa as new world champion (2465 points, new world record).
