Arches in The Mall, London, for the Coronation

May 05, 1953 - The First Two Arches Go Up in The Mall. The Horse Guards are off to Buckingham Palace, and along the Mall they pass the newly erected arches under which the Queen will ride on the first stage of her Coronation Day procession to Westminster Abbey. The arches, 65ft high and made of tubular steel, are to be decorated and wired for Coronation Night illuminations. There are two more to be erected
