Jan. 17, 1952 - Building A New Power Station. Working 300-Feet Above London: Working 300-feet above London's River Thames, are Mr. Roderick Iang and Mr. Arthur Standing hard at work riveting. They knelt, in a stiff wind, on top of 800 tons of steel, riveted by themselves into the framework of a chimney. They felt, as they have felt frequently, that they could do with a magnet to on their feet to hold them down. The chimney stands near Southwark, Cannon-street and London Bridges. It is part of the Bankside Power Station, planned in 1939, and begun after the war. Half the station is expected to operate by the summer.
