Dec. 12, 1952 - Russians Close Their Big H.O. Shop - Following Ban on the West Berlin Shoppers.. Now that the Russians have banned shoppers from West Berlin shopping in their sector - they have had to close their biggest H.O. (Trade Organization) shop at Postdamer Platz which is at the intersection where the British - American and Russian sectors converge.. It has been a long practice for Western Shoppers to change their Western Marks for three or four Eastern Marks and therefore get cheaper foodstuffs and other goods.. Thousands crossed the road daily on their shopping expedition and since the ban - trade has fallen to practically nother and the store has had to put up the shutters. Keystone Photo Shows: The big Russian Controlled Shop at Postdamer Platz - closed through lack of trade - following the East West ban
