Apr. 17, 1956 - Evening News Riverside Highway On Exhibition.: An exhibition is being held at Charing Cross Underground Station, London, to show the public how the Evening News scheme for a Riverside Highway would look when completed. It is a plan for a five-mile road which would run from Blackfriars Bridge to Battersea, alongside the existing embankment and jutting out over the water. Photo shows Part of the proposed 5-mile road going under Westminster Bridge underground along the present Parliament Terrace - seen today at the exhibition
