Aug. 08, 1959 - Ancient Sussex Windmill is being dismantled to be re-erected in Surrey: The famous old Jolesfield Windmill, built about 1970 at Littleworth, near Partridge Green, Sussex is now being dismantled, despite protests from residents. The 170-year-old mill, a smock mill (one in which the cap and sails only revolve) is to be re-erected and restored to full working order in the grounds of the 13th century Gatwick Manor, on the London to Brighton road. Mr Edwin Hole, who is one of Britain's few remaning millwrights, is in charge of teh dismantling operations. Mr. Nevvar Hickmet, the new ownerm is soendingmore than £40, 000 on Gatwick Lianor's 16th-century Tithe Earn and 13-th century Hyders Hall.
