The latest in Giant Stores: Tokyo's windowless shop with a fabulous roof garden=cum-playground: The old-established Tokyo department store, Shirokiya, has just completed rebuilding on the Ginza a vast new building of a revolutionary design. It is the most up to date shop in the Far East. Except from the ground floor there are no windows. All floors are air conditioned and for this reason there are no windows on the other floors. Other interesting feature is the rooftop garden and play park for children. There is a monorail train, telescopes for viewing the city, zoological gardens, icecream stalls, picnic benches swings, roundabouts, a giant whell and other attractions. Children can be left happily playing there while parents do their shopping, and collect them when ready to go home. Children queue for rides on the giant wheel and the Racer in the fairground on the roof of the department store in Tokyo
