Aquapolis Towers being built for Ocean Exposition Underwater observation towers named Aquapolis, are being built on the Japanese island of Okinawa for the International Ocean Exposition taking place from July 20, 1975 until January 18, 1976. The massive steel towers will be towed 400 meters off shore and sunk to the seabed, so that visitors will be able to see marine life underwater through plate glass observation port holes. 24-4-74
