Mar. 02 Japanese Capsule Houses. The high cost of land on which to build houses in Japan, is giving construction companies a new look at living. One company, Kubota Ltd. appears to have studied the habits of bees and their honeycombs as a way to overcome the problem, and are building what they call Capsule Houses, which are fastened to a 50 meter high tower, with an elevator inside so that the tenants can reach their own capsule. Each tower will have 54 capsules houses attached to it, each capsule home is 4.5, eters wide, 2.4 meters in depth, and 2.6 meters high. Each will cost Yen 1, 400, 000 (, 840).
