Mar. 22 The new glam brum: A new super colossel Birmingham has emerged from the bombed out rubble that was dirty old Brum, pride and despair of the Midlands. The city has the biggest building programme in the country and it is hoped to spend another £40, 000, 000 within the next three years. This great city o 1, 800 trades and 1, 100, 000 people has been rendered virtually unrecognisable. People who knew the old brum like the back of their hands get lost in the new Brum. But though most people like the new glamour of Birmingham, the new fancy flyovers, the new racy roads, the new super shopping centres, they feel its not really for them. And besides they are wondering who's going to pay for it all. Photo shows the new Bull Ring Market, with its umbrella roofed stalls, and the new flyover roadway
