Mar. 22 The Atomium -Symbol of The Brussels Fair. Centrepiece and symbol of the Brussels Fair is the 360ft. high Atomium representing the chain reaction in splitting the atom. nine large spheres are joined by tubes containing escalators. In eight of the spheres are toms-for-peace exhibits. Britain has one to herself and so has Russia. In the ninth sphere, the highest, iss restaurant where meals at £7 a head are served. The Brussels Fair is the first event of its kind since the New York World Fair of 1939 and when it closes in six months time, the Atomium will remain as a Brussels landmark.
