Feb. 29 Armchair traveler.: When 39-tear-old John Burnett was a lad he wanted to be an engine driver, and for 15 years he did just that. Now the age of steam is over no longer does he drive those dirty but romantic monsters. Today he is like the captain of a 747 in the cockpit of a modern diesel. But when he clocks off at the end of a shift and puts his feet up at home the age of steam returns. He has built in the living room of his home a scaled down copy of the old Great Western, complete with regulator, levers, gauges and dials, and right down to the familiar regulation oil cans. And so, passes his leisure hours making scale models or just dreaming about the past
