Apr. 17 High up on Britain's Newest Television Mast, Construction work at Crystal Palace. The highest men in London these days are the Spidermen working on the new Television Mast on the site of the old Crystal Palace. When complete the mast will be 650 ft. high. The antennae are at 440 ft. and will transmit to make bright spots out of the black spots in the television coverage of Southern England. The tower was started in April 1955. The foundations go down 50 feet into what was once the Crystal Palace Boating Pool. The output will be200 Kws, four times the existing cover.
