Mar. 03, 1960 - Property Tycoons Confer On A Big Business Plan Mr. Charles Clore, the industrialist and financier met Mr. Conrad Hilton, the American hotel owner, in Mayfair on a site where the 500-room London Hilton hotel is to be built. It will be the first Hilton hotel in Britain. While workmen were busy on the site Mr. Clore and Mr. Hilton, partners in the project, were studying the plane of the new hotel which will have a tower of 27 storeys 300-feet high and is expected to cost £6 million.
