Jul. 18, 1960 - The Man In Love Is Saved From A Parapet 100-feet Up Crowds saw a man, who said he had been juited, standing outside the parapet on the roof of the seventh floor of a department store in Bristol today. He was gripping the balustrade, leaning outwards and gazing down at the crowded pavement 100-feet below. Police went to the roof, and a turntable ladder arrived from the fire brigade headquarters. The firemen joined the police and talked to the man, who eventually turned towards them, and was then grabbed and helped to safety. The man was identified as Peter Gardiner, aged 20, living in a flat at Gloucester House, St. Jude's Bristol.
