Nov. 13, 1960 - Sensation At Tower Bridge. Man Says He Intends To Dive From The Top: There was a sensation at Tower Bridge this afternoon - when a man climbed from ground level to the upper supports of Tower Bridge - saying that i was his intention to dive from the top into the river. Police were soon on the scene - and using a loud hailer - pursuaded the man to change his mind - as it would probably mean certain death. A Fire engine escape was used to get him to the ground - and into the arms of the law. He is Mr. Johnny Sanger. Photo Shows: A policeman (on right) climbs along the Bridge supports to Mr. Sanger perched on left
