This dramatic picture shows the giant 41-ton funnel being shipped into postion on the new 7, 000 tons gross passenger - ear container ship Spero, now nearing completion for Ellerman's of Cammell Laird and Co. (Shipbuilders and Engineers) Ltd. The ship is due to enter the Hull Gothengurb service of the new England Sweden Line on August 8th. Her funnel, seen here from the bridge, is 41ft. Beng, 24ft. wide and 35ft. high, and is the third largest Lairds have ever built
