1966 - The moor murder trial opened today at Chester castle. The accused are Ian Brady, 27-year old stock clerk, and Myra Hindley, 23-year old shorthand-typist, both of Wordle brook-avenue, Hattersley near Hyde, Cheshire. Brady is charged with the murders of Lesley Ann Dewney, 10, John Kilbride, 12, and Edward Evans, 17. Hindley is charged with the murders of Downey and Evans and with harbouring Brady knowing he had murders of Downey and Evans and with harbouring Brady knowing he had murdered Kilbride.
