Jul. 07, 1968 - Skeletal Crane gently lifts a switching frame to the ninth floor of the New York Telephone Copany's offices at 104 Broad Street in Lower Manhattan. Western Electric, the manufacturing and supply unit of the Bell System, is currently working on a crash project to install additional switching equipment in the building, which provides telephone services for the Wall Street district. In the past several months, switching facilities at Broad Street have been swamped by surges in trading activity on the stock exchanges
