Aug. 08, 1974 - Cannon Street Station Closed: Cannon Street Station in London closed today for five weeks while tracks are relaid as part of the London Bridge modernization scheme. Many trains are cancelled, and others will be diverted to Charing Cross, Blackfriers, Helborn and Victoria. Some will terminate at London Bridge.
